The Big Draw is a visual literacy charity that promotes the universal language of drawing as a tool for learning, expression and invention. The charity leads a diverse programme of advocacy, empowerment and engagement, and is the founder and driving force behind The Big Draw Festival – the world’s biggest celebration of drawing.

In 2019 The Big Draw Festival #DrawnToLife focuses on the vital role of creativity for health and wellbeing. As 'social prescribing' gains greater recognition as an effective tool for living a healthier and happier life; creating opportunities for accessible, fun, creative events has become more important than ever. So this is a great year to draw your community together, draw, explore, get out and about, kick start a new creative you and be part of The World's Biggest community of drawing enthusiasts!
- The Museum of Natural History will be launching a new exhibit (Sept 21 - Nov 3) promoting drawing in natural sciences; featuring historical and modern examples of drawing and encouraging drawing in the Museum.
- Throughout October the Museum of Natural History will hold a series of public lectures, events, and panel discussions about using eye trackers and VR to study drawing, graphic novels and comics in natural sciences, and facilitated nature drawing sessions.
- A special public talk (Oct 7th) by Dr. John Kennedy, Drawing in the Blind and Sighted, will discuss alternative forms of drawing and perception, and importance for drawing and learning.
