June Nature Zone

Field trip season at the museum is June 8 to 19, 2026!

Nature Zone offers hands-on exploration of the Museum of Natural History. Students visit stations led by staff and volunteers to participate in activities based on the theme “Defenders Assemble.” They examine dinosaur defence structures, compare turtle shells, and learn how animals survive in the intertidal zone.

Current exhibits include: Dinosaur Exploration 2, with full-size skeletons, skulls, Nova Scotian dinosaurs, and an interactive dig pit with fossil replicas. Science on a Sphere displays planetary and earth sciences on a large globe. The Netukulimk forest gallery features live reptiles and amphibians. Visit the Marine Gallery to see an ocean tank with live invertebrates and displays on Sable Island, and the underwater canyon, the Gully. displays.
