About this event

Sable Island and Ocean Waste

Join us for a relaxing evening of creativity and exploration at the Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History creating collages inspired by the wonders of nature! The evening will be hosted by Brenna Frasier, Curator of Zoology, Rhonda Barrett, collage artist, Cuts and Paste Gallery, and Zoe Lucas, Sable Island Institute.

The evening will start off with an exploration of some ocean waste materials that have been collected from the shores of Sable Island. We will discuss the challenges of ocean pollution and marine debris. We will then explore some collage techniques and create our own collage inspired by the observed objects and concepts.

We'll provide all the necessary materials, however, feel free to bring your own materials too, if you have any specific ideas in mind. Whether you're an experienced artist or just starting out, this event is the perfect chance to explore a unique medium.

Please note that this event is geared toward adult attendees.
