Rocks and minerals tell us a lot about where we live, some can indicate volcanic activity, while others can tell you about the earth's history. The Geology Gallery here at the Museum displays the many types of ore, rocks and minerals that can be found in Nova Scotia. It showcases the different places gold has been found in Nova Scotia, displays of rocks from across the province and rocks from around the world including Mexico, Brazil and Australia.
Visitors can also learn about igneous and sedimentary rocks, see examples of metamorphic rocks and learn how limestone turns into marble. This gallery also has a collection of gypsum and different examples of quartz.
